The raor (also called galán, orito, pámpano, papagayo, andpeine’ in local languages)is one of the most expensive and delectable white fish found in Spain. There are strict restrictions in catching this exquisite fish. You can catch raor fish from September to late March; catching them off-season can result in heavy penalties.

The best place to explore the varied marine environment of Ibiza is to visit San Antonio Bay, Santa Eulalia, Figueretas, near Ibiza town, Es Vedra and other beaches. However, there are some restricted areas where you cannot fish. Underwater fishing, sport fishing and spearfishing are strictly prohibited in the Marine Reserve dels Freus of Ibiza and Formentera. On the other hand, recreational fishing can be practiced by boat in the Sa Punta de saCreu Marine Reserve, between July 1 and March 31.
